When does a consultation make the most sense?
Most often when you feel like you are doing a lot, but your skin still doesn’t look stable. This is a common starting point for skin that is acne-prone, reactive, dehydrated, overloaded with active ingredients, or simply reacting poorly to randomly chosen products. A consultation helps distinguish a concern that just needs to be calmed down from a situation where we can already plan a specific target treatment.
If you are considering microneedling, a chemical peel, or a manual facial cleansing, but aren't sure if it's the right moment - a consultation usually saves you from the biggest mistakes.
What we check
The state of your skin barrier, reactivity levels, blackheads, sebum production, dehydration, inflammation, and tolerance to active ingredients.
What we organize
Your current home routine, product order, cosmetic clutter, and errors that might be worsening the problem.
What we determine
Whether to start with adjusting your home care, a soothing treatment, deep cleansing, sebum regulation, or a more regenerative therapy.
How does the consultation look step-by-step?
1
Discussion about your skin and current routine
We talk about your symptoms, goals, skin reactions, current products, and what frustrates you the most.
2
Skin condition assessment
I analyze whether your skin is overloaded, irritated, congested, dehydrated, or if it primarily requires gentle soothing.
3
Setting priorities
We determine what makes sense right now and what should be put on hold to avoid worsening your skin's condition.
4
Future steps plan
You leave with a clear direction for your daily routine and a decision on whether (and which) treatment will be best for you.
What should you prepare before the visit?
A list of cosmetics you are using now or have used in recent weeks helps immensely. If you don’t remember the names, photos of the packaging are more than enough. This makes it easier to see if the problem stems from an overload of actives, overly aggressive cleansing, or mismatched products.
If possible, please arrive without heavy makeup. This makes it easier to evaluate your skin from the very first minutes of your visit.
When do I NOT recommend an immediate treatment after the consultation?
Sometimes the best decision is not to rush into action, but to hit the brakes. If the skin is visibly irritated, overwhelmed by active ingredients, or in an acute inflammatory stage, it first needs to be calmed down by simplifying your home routine. This is exactly why the consultation is so vital: it allows us to choose a therapy honestly, rather than forcing a treatment.
Why can you trust this plan?
The consultation is conducted by Margo. If you would like to learn more about my working methods, experience, and approach to the skin, please visit the About Me page. The goal of this visit is not to sell you more cosmetics, but to streamline your routine and point out what truly makes sense for your skin.
